Théâtre de l'ordinaire, the ordinary man's theatre is a collaborative project by Leila Ziu and Maëva Berthelot. Stumbling on a banal unused car park we felt excited by this space, transforming it into a temporary guerilla-style film set. An attempt to bring glamour into the ordinary and on-screen magic into real life.
Following the recent upsurge and bombardment of idealised imagery, this project records our re-processing / regurgitation of the absorbed visual language of advertising, showbiz, popular culture, beauty and fashion. Indulging in our search for perfection and the reality of our humanity and errors - we surrender to the space right from the start. All recordings are improvised one-shot takes.
